Your Trusted Obstetricians in St. Louis

Prenatal care is traditionally initiated 8-10 weeks after your last menstrual period, however, we know that each pregnancy is different, which is why we offer individualized care for the wellbeing of every mother and baby.

At your first appointment, we will review your medical and family history, perform an ultrasound confirming and dating your pregnancy and draw labs. We will also discuss available genetic testing.

You will continue to see your provider every four weeks until 28 weeks gestation, after which point, you will be seen every two weeks. As you approach your due date, you will be seen weekly. At every appointment, your pregnancy doctor will assess your weight, blood pressure and fetal wellbeing, as well as any other potential pregnancy issues.

Other highlights of your prenatal care include a detailed ultrasound looking at fetal anatomy around 20 weeks gestation, and an oral glucose test between 24-28 weeks screening for gestational diabetes.

We look forward to personalizing your care throughout your pregnancy.

While our providers are experienced in general obstetrics, they are also highly skilled in caring for common pregnancy complications, including:

  • Advanced maternal age
  • Gestational diabetes
  • History of pre-term birth
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Twins
  • Vaginal birth after a C-section (VBAC)
